ACHEMA 2027: cutaways and 3D animation for process equipment makers

ACHEMA, the world forum for the process industries, returns to Frankfurt am Main from 14 to 18 June 2027. The 2024 edition counted 2,842 exhibitors from 56 countries and 106,001 participants from 141 countries. For builders of pumps, compressors, valves, filtration, mixing and process plant equipment, it comes around only once every three years, which makes each edition a major investment.

Process equipment has the same problem at every fair: the important part happens inside a closed vessel, pump casing or pipe. This guide covers how 3D cutaways, flow animation and renders built from CAD make process equipment understandable at ACHEMA 2027.

What process industry buyers need to see

ACHEMA visitors are chemical, pharmaceutical, food and biotech engineers. They read equipment the way they read a P&ID: what goes in, what happens, what comes out, and what can go wrong. Strong visuals answer:

  • The internals. Impeller geometry, seal arrangement, filter media, mixing elements.
  • The flow. How liquids, gases, powders or slurries move through the equipment, and where the pressure drop is.
  • Cleanability and compliance. For pharma and food: dead legs, surface finishes, CIP and SIP access.
  • Maintenance. How fast seals, filters and wear parts can be changed, and with which tools.

Visual formats for process equipment

Cutaway and x-ray views

A quarter-section through a pump, valve or vessel, rendered photoreal, is the most efficient image a process equipment company can own. It goes on the booth wall, in the datasheet and in every sales presentation. See our centrifugal pump project and the pleated filter cartridge.

Flow animation

Animated particles or coloured streams show the medium moving through the equipment. We show flow as a clear, schematic visualisation driven by your engineering data, not as a computational fluid simulation. If you have CFD results, they can be overlaid.

Exploded maintenance sequence

A 20 to 40 second film showing how a seal or filter is changed. For buyers comparing total cost of ownership, maintenance speed is a strong argument.

Skid and plant flythrough

For complete skids and modular plants, a flythrough from the outside in, ending at the key piece of equipment.

Pharma and food buyers look closer

A large part of the ACHEMA audience works in regulated industries. For pharmaceutical and food applications, visuals should show compliance features explicitly: surface finish in product contact zones, drainability, the absence of dead legs, seal designs suited to CIP and SIP, and material certificates. A ghosted view of the wetted path, with every product contact surface highlighted, is one of the clearest images a hygienic pump or valve manufacturer can show.

Range renders for the catalogue

Process equipment is usually sold as a range: sizes, materials, connection types and drive options. Once one model is prepared from CAD, every variant can be rendered in the same light and camera angle, so the whole catalogue looks consistent. Our catalogue batch pricing starts at $340 per SKU for ten or more variants.

Because ACHEMA is triennial, many exhibitors launch new product generations there. If the physical product will not be ready for photography before June, renders from CAD are the only way to have launch images for the press and the pre-show campaign.

We work regularly with pumps, compressors, valves and filtration equipment. Send the CAD with your stand plan, and we return a fixed quote within one working day.

Questions.

When is ACHEMA 2027?

ACHEMA 2027 runs from 14 to 18 June 2027 in Frankfurt am Main. It takes place every three years; the previous edition was in 2024.

Do you do CFD flow simulation?

No. We show flow as a clear schematic visualisation driven by your engineering data. If you have CFD results, they can be overlaid on the animation.

What is the most useful single visual for a pump or valve maker?

A photoreal quarter-section cutaway. It works on the booth wall, in datasheets and in every sales presentation.

Can we launch a product at ACHEMA before it is built?

Yes. Renders and animation from CAD give you launch images and films for the press and pre-show campaign before a prototype can be photographed.
