FachPack is back in Nuremberg from 21 to 23 September 2027, after skipping 2026 to make way for interpack. The 2025 edition reported 72,000 visitors, 37 per cent of them from outside Germany. It is the European packaging fair where machine builders meet buyers from consumer goods, pharma, food and industrial packaging in a working, three-day format.

With interpack not returning until June 2029, FachPack 2027 is the main European stage for packaging machinery for the next two years. This guide covers what to show, which visuals to build from your CAD and when to start.

FachPack in the packaging calendar

NürnbergMesse runs FachPack every year except interpack years. interpack 2026 brought around 2,800 exhibitors to Düsseldorf in May, and the next edition is 10 to 15 June 2029. That leaves FachPack 2027 and FachPack 2028 as the two big European dates in between, with PACK EXPO Las Vegas a week later in the US for builders who exhibit on both continents.

What FachPack visitors come for

FachPack covers packaging materials, filling and packaging machinery, labelling, palletising, intralogistics and packaging printing. Visitors tend to arrive with a specific project: a new line, a sustainability change from plastic to paper-based packaging, or automation to replace manual end-of-line work. Your visuals should answer three things fast:

• Can it handle my packaging? Show the material types and formats the machine runs, especially paper-based and mono-material packs, which are a current focus for European brand owners.
• How fast is the changeover? Format flexibility matters more than top speed for most mid-sized producers.
• Where does it fit in my line? A short line animation that shows your machine between filler and palletiser answers this better than a datasheet.

The visuals to prepare

Booth loop and LED wall content

A silent loop that repeats without a visible cut is the backbone of the stand. For FachPack, plan it in German and English with short captions. If your stand has an LED wall, ask your stand builder for the exact pixel dimensions before animation starts, because LED walls rarely match standard 16:9 resolutions.

Changeover or feature film

A feature highlight film of 20 to 45 seconds on the one mechanism that sets your machine apart, cut for the stand screen, LinkedIn and your website.

Render set for the press and pre-show campaign

Trade press closes its FachPack preview issues in summer. Photoreal renders of the new machine let you supply press images before the first unit is even built, which is often the case with machines launched at a fair.

Interactive 3D for the sales desk

A touch screen where visitors rotate the machine, open guards and switch formats keeps people at the stand longer and gives your sales team something to talk over. It reuses the same prepared CAD. See what an industrial 3D configurator costs.

German and international visitors

More than a third of FachPack visitors come from outside Germany, mostly from neighbouring European countries. That shapes the visual brief:

• Captions over voice-over. Short on-screen text in German and English reaches almost everyone, and can be swapped for other languages cheaply.
• Metric units and European standards. Show CE marking, guarding and safety concepts the way European buyers expect them.
• Numbers that matter in Europe: energy consumption, material savings and changeover time, which feed directly into sustainability reporting and labour cost.

A single production with German and English edits typically adds only a small amount to the cost of the first version.

Timeline for FachPack 2027

Two practical notes. First, many German engineering teams are on holiday in August, so approvals slow down: send CAD and the brief by the end of June. Second, if you also exhibit at PACK EXPO Las Vegas a week later, one production run can serve both shows with an English and a German edit.

All prices include CAD preparation, one revision round and full commercial usage rights. For first-time clients, the $800 pilot project is a low-risk way to test us on one component before the main project.

• CAD of the configuration for the fair, STEP or native.
• The packaging formats and materials you want shown.
• Stand plan with screen positions and sizes.
• Languages and caption text, or the key messages and we draft it.
• Approval contacts and dates in July and August.
